A senior official reported that the Kakrapar Atomic Power Project (KAPP) in Gujarat, home to India's first nuclear power reactor of its own design and construction, began commercial operations on Friday. Senior KAPP officials said that KAPP-3, the company's first indigenous 700 MWe unit, went into commercial operation on June 30, 2023, at 1000 hours.
