Army officers have been posted to Indian Air Force (IAF) and Navy units that share a common arsenal in a further step toward the three armed forces' revolutionary integration.

The IAF and Navy's BrahMos missile units (on warships) have been given orders to post Army commanders there. The BrahMos operating Regiment of Artillery received the orders, which were directed to Major and Captain level officers. According to a representative, these are some of the initial steps toward the development of unified fighting forces. The nation's top missile, BrahMos, which can travel at hypersonic speeds over a distance of more than 400 kilometers, is operated by all three services.
